“Fashion fades, only style remains the same” – Coco Chanel

It’s been a while since I last wrote a post. I’ve been really caugh up with work stuff and exams, it’s been crazy! I’m glad I have a little bit of time to write something about me, like one of my hobbies and thing I like, in this case, cause I’ve really missed it! It’s so different when you are on vacation and you can write an entry every day! Well leaving this aside, just apologise for not having written in so long and let’s go to the aim of this post.

Today I’m going to talk about style. There is so much that comes to your mind when you think about it: fashion, outlook, outfit, posture, power… Style isn’t something you build up on a day, it isn’t about dressing with the most expensive brands or let others pick your clothes because it makes you fancier. Style is a way of life, it’s about showing yourself, your personality and your feelings through clothes. It’s about people knowing who you are by just looking at you. That is why it’s so important that everybody has it’s own style. Why then would there be gothic or punk or hippie, etc. These are peolple that live in a certain way and express it through what they wear.

The same happens with celebrities and “it girls”. These are the ones that I like the most. The way they combine a bunch of colours and a series of pants, trousers, skirts with the most varied shoes, that are my weakness! I just love going through vogue or elle magazines looking for new outfits they wear. However, as I’ve said before, each one should have their own stlyle, with their own trending and chic things. It’s  not bad though, to have someone as a model, to whom to aspire to. In the end, we all relate to each other somehow.

“Create your own style… let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others.”

Never be afraid to sit awhile and think

We live our lives day by day, step by step, little by little. We don’t care about what the future may depare, about what may come with our choice, we just jump into it no matter what.

We live in a world where “tomorrow” doesn’t exist, we live in the present and only the present. We don’t think clearly with a long-term mind, because the fact is that if we thought things twice, we wouldn’t do half that what we actually do because we would realize that that thing isn’t exactly good for you, maybe it is right now but it won’t be in the future.

We live in the “go with the flow” era, if you try to make sense out of something you’re just boring and a buzzkiller or spoilsport. You just gotta go with it, no second thoughts.

I am actually deeply submerged in this world, as a matter of fact i like living this way, not caring about the future or what consequences my actions may have. I live the moment, I sieze it, and I’m doing really well so far. However, my point of writing this post is to make, not only me, but all of us, a little bit of thinking because it doesn’t kill anybody. I’m not saying to obsesively rethink every situation, just that every now and then you stop and stare.

“People don’t like to think, if one thinks, one must reach conclusions. Conclusions are not always pleasant”

My secret passion

There are tons of things you can do when you’re bored or when you are just lazy to walk around on the street, you can read a book, watch whatever it is that they’re putting on the tv, call somebody through the phone and talk for hours, listen to music or just lay on the couch!

However, when I don’t feel like doing anything I watch tv series, I’ve actually watched tons of them. It all started three years ago when a friend of mine told me that she was hanged on a tv series that was really good, she would always expolain me everything about it but I never had the will to start and watch some. Then one day the intrigue caught me and I thought “come on, let’s see if it’s as good as she’s telling me”, and it actually was! Haha the show was gossip girl and since that day I started watching the tv series that she liked and they were actually pretty awesome!

So here’s what actually brought me to talk about this on the first place, I’m going to give you a list of the shows I’ve seen and if you watch any of them just tell me if you liked them, I assure you that they are really good! It’s a great way to kill time! So here goes the list:

1. Gossip Girl
2. Pretty Little Liars
3. 90210 the new generation
4. The vampire diaries
5. Life unexpected
6. Homeland

9. Glee
10. One tree hill

13. Awkward
14. Smash
15. Hellcats
16. Make it or break it
17. The lying game
18. Friday Night Lights

I also leave here a couple of sitcoms and tv shows that I love!

2. Friends
3. The big bang theory

Well I hope I encouraged you to start watching some of these amazing shows! Feel free to comment any show or tv series that you watch and love that aren’t on the list, or if you don’t like some that I posted, I would love to talk about it!

Now if you are really bored and don’t feel like doing anything, you know what to do! You should try it some time! Though, I should warn you, you may be really caught up on them!

A day to remember

Every day is a new adventure, you may think how it’s going to be at the beginning but in the end, it can go completely different than what you expected in the first place. For instance, I thought today was going to be a really lazy day with nothing to do ’cause I woke up late and, trust me, when I sleep till noon, there’s nothing you can do to convince me into going anywhere rather near my couch hahaha.

However, today was my grandmother’s birthday so I couldn’t just pass from the family meal, and it was actually pretty great! I got to talk with my cousins, eat ( really tasty food I may say), and most importantly have an amazing time with my loving grandmother! It has been a day to remember.

Usually, I wouldn’t be really excited about hanging out with my family, ’cause we all know how bad or boring that can turn out to be. I’m glad this time was good, I hope that the following family meals are as entertaining as this one!

With that said, I just wanted to add, after what I wrote at the beginning, that no matter what you expect from anything, it can always turn out to be so much different than you thought! I hope you all had an amazing start of the year!

New beginnings, let the 2014 year start!

So yet again, a new year has come, it will bring laughs, joy, surprises, love, happiness, sadness, loneliness, friendship, arguments, discussions, and a whole lot more. But, what you really gotta think at new year’s eve is what did you do wrong, what didn’t turn out the way you wanted or what made you sad that you could’ve changed. Then think, just for a moment, if those things that went wrong lead to new amazing things, new beginnings, new friends, and new stories, cause everything happens for a reason.

With that said, when this time of the year comes,  you may think of your mistakes, but not as things that got in your way of achieving something, but as what lead you to other situations, better or worse, but that still made you a better person, if not, a stronger one.

At this moment, you can make tons of promises, but what you might do is swear, not to others but to yourself, that this new year you’ll make it right, you’ll try to spend the best year of your life, enjoying every little moment and situation, cause in the end, that’s what life is all about.

So here’s to new beginnings, friendships, joys, laughters and break downs. May you all have a happy new year!

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language

and next year’s words await another voice.”
